Why Travel Solo?
For a long time, I felt like travel required a companion. As I got into my late 30s, I was still single and most of my friends were busy with their careers and young kids. I decided I wasn’t going to wait any longer and found the confidence to travel solo. While I’m traveling, I get a lot of questions and surprised looks when people learn that I’m traveling solo. I love it. I do whatever I want whenever I want, and at this point, I’m not sure I’d want it any other way.
Easy, Efficient, and Quality Travel
My style of travel is easy, efficient, and quality without breaking the bank. I really enjoy cruising, because I love being on the water, and I appreciate being able to unpack once and travel from place to place while I sleep. I am also not afraid to fly to another county and rent a car or use public transportation to get around and see some of the sites off the beaten path. Occasionally, I will travel with others or meet up with friends, but for now anyway, I mostly travel solo.
Traveling Light with my Carry On
Traveling solo means I am responsible for myself – by myself. I cannot easily do that if I am lugging around two huge suitcases, so I have learned to travel light. I only own one suitcase, and it’s a 22-inch carry on. This certainly limits the amount of clothes and shoes I can pack, but I am working on curating a travel capsule wardrobe that works for trips up to two weeks.
In addition to my carry on, I bring a backpack that contains my camera, laptop, liquids, and any other items I may need in transit.
What to Expect from Carry On Travel Solo?
I’m starting this site to document and share my experience traveling around the world solo. I’ll write about my future travel, re-live some from the past, and share some of my thoughts and opinions on the different companies and products that I use while traveling.
